Dan Whittle for Senior Fabian Exec

Message from Dan Whittle below.

Graham

I’m contacting you to ask you to cast one of your votes in the senior Fabian Executive elections for me, and/or pass this message on to friends who are Fabian members. Ballots come out around the end of the month.

I am Director of Unions 21, and have been a member of the Young Fabians executive for three years, in which time I have organised over 10 events. Have a look: http://danwhittle.wordpress.com/fabian-society/

In this, my final year on the executive, I’ve spoken to local societies about the two Young Fabians online publications I’ve collaborated on. One on the role of trade unions in the Obama campaign, and the other on what we can do to stop the momentum of the BNP.

I will be speaking at local Fabian Societies in West and South East London, Havering, Peterborough, Tunbridge Wells, Canterbury, and Brighton & Hove amongst others, over the next two months. I hope to talk to members about how they want to see the Fabian Society evolve. I look forward to seeing you there, but if I’m not coming to your local society in the immediate future I’d welcome an exchange of views via email instead.

I believe the Society draws its strength from the knowledge and experience of its members, that’s where we get our edge as an intellectual force in politics. We need to draw more widely and deeply on the capability of members in developing our ideas and policy over the crucial next 6 months.

Best, Dan Whittle
